Dot NAME Domain Names

Set up in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level extension is the only one meant for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to book john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken 3rd-level domains remained active.

Through our firm, you can acquire your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to switch the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific conditions on who can acquire a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the idea behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.

The .NAME extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no additional cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the exact spelling in your local language.
