Q: Why do I need to transfer my web site? What does website migration entail?
A: When your present hosting provider can no longer answer the demands of your site, or when you experience continuous downtime, or if you are forced to wait for hours for the technical support staff to reply to you, it may be smart to switch your web hosting provider, i.e. to move all the files for your sites along with your databases from your present provider to your new provider. At SAHAKA Hosting, we are aware that this can often be hard & time–consuming. That is why we will perform all that for you at no cost!Our expert technical staff representatives will transfer your site content from your present web hosting provider to us. Our technicians have extensive experience with web site migration and can take care of everything – from a customary WordPress–powered blog or Joomla™ site, to a very complex, custom–made application.

Q: How long will it take for my site to be migrated to your platform?
A: While we can’t give you an exact ETA, since there are a lot of factors, including the size of the files and databases, the physical location of the present host’s server, the complexity of your website and the current workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we will try our best to migrate your web site within 48h, and in certain cases – within 24h (if the content is not very large).

Q: What info will I have to give to your Website Migration Department?
A: Yep. We’ll require the name of the web site that you would like us to transfer. We’ll also require a way to log in to your current hosting account so that we can get the files pertaining to your website.

Q: The login info for my hosting account is delicate. How can I trust you?
A: Our Privacy Policy is an indivisible part of the contract that we will have with you as a client. We are committed to safeguarding the safety of the personal information collected from the clients. To accomplish that, we use technical security measures in order to prevent the loss, the abuse, the alteration or the unauthorized leakage of the personal info under our control. The measures include, but are not limited to: physical, digital and managerial operations to safeguard and secure the information that we acquire on the Internet. When we ask customers to provide financial info (such as a debit card number), this info is secured using the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption method.

Q: What about downtime? Will my website be unavailable?
A: Nope. Your site will remain online during the transfer. As soon as everything is completed on our end, we will tell you so that you can examine it and check for problems. If everything is okay, all you will need to do is change your domain name’s DNS resource records.

Q: Will my current hosting provider need to provide any info/help?
A: While we migrate your website content, your hosting provider will not be aware of the transfer at all. We will not touch base with them in any way.

Q: Which web hosting providers can you transfer web content from?
A: Yep. We support all common Linux–driven hosting platforms. We do not support Windows–driven hosting platforms, because we don’t offer Windows hosting solutions ourselves.In addition, we don’t support proprietary website creation and management user interfaces such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
